Ag pleez daddy, take us to The Galileo

The Galileo has a feast of family friendly movies lined up for you over the festive season. Choose from a broad selection of movies including Singing In the Rain, Annie, ET, Back To The Future and Home Alone, there’s a little something for all six, seven, eight, nine, ten of you this season.

Screened at Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville, Kirstenbosch Gardens in the Southern Suburbs, the V&A Waterfront in town and a selection of venues in the Winelands, experience an unforgettable evening under the stars with your nearest and dearest.

Doors open at 6pm and the movie starts as soon as it is dark (around 8pm). Arrive early to take advantage of the market vibe before the show and reserve your spot on the lawn with a comfy backrest and a warm blanket, both of which are available for hire. More than just a movie experience, take some time out to enjoy quality time with your family – spread yourselves out on the lawn, bring some games to play before the movie starts and capture your moment with The Galileo’s on site photo booth and wondering photographer.

Delicious, mouth-watering artisanal food and drinks (alcoholic and non) will all be on sale at all venues. Tuck into some insanely good nachos, straight-out-of-the-oven pizza, mouth-watering brownies or snack on some freshly made hot popcorn – the only thing missing is the Eskimo pie!

Open until April 2015, a few additional events have been introduced this season, including six Saturday shows in the Stellenbosch and Somerset West wine regions and a Valentine’s evening on 14 February at Groot Constantia. Visit www.thegalileo.co.za for the full line-up, to purchase tickets or to find out more about each venue – you’ll be so glad you did.
