Kids can be extremely stylish nowadays without breaking the bank or leaving you eating dry bread for the rest of the month. Kids fashion can be affordable if you know where to look and I’m here to guide you.
I’m Lindsay, a Momma Bear of 2 boisterous, yet somewhat stylish boys and, although we don’t follow the latest fashion trends, I believe that a kid’s style is important and I do try to incorporate certain fashion pieces into their wardrobe.
Since the moment I found out I was pregnant I have been on the hunt for stylish kids clothing and fashion accessories, which are not only locally produced, but affordable! Thanks to the powers of social media and the wonderful Internet, finding these pieces has become much easier.
From our big retail chain stores to our local small businesses, there are plenty of options for your little ones that go beyond the international fashion brands (even though a nice piece from Zara, Gap and Boden never hurt anyone).
So here are my top finds for both girls and boys to complete their Festive Season look.
WARNING: The following adorable outfits may lead to a sudden urge to procreate!
It is the holiday season after all, so have some fun incorporating reds and whites into their Summer wardrobe, add a few patterned pieces and textures like lace and chiffon for the girls, and you’ll be summer ready!
The Kids Style File – FASHION FIND
I stumbled onto Jenny from Sweet Shoes a few months ago and enquired about her range (back then it consisted of the traditional baby leather soft shoes). I was thrilled to discover that she now also stocks baby moccasins (sizes include small, medium and large) and leather kids sandals (as well as bags and belts), and can even custom make a pair to meet your requirements. How is that for service?
Take a look…
Prices range from R80 to R110 a pair, and if you buy 10 pairs you will only pay R60 a pair regardless of the sizes you select (specific to the Bows and Fringes range of shoes).
I’m always on the hunt for awesome locally produced kids products, so if you stumble across something that knocks your socks off please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line Kids Style File with Lindsay!
