Moms get the break you deserve – East Coast Radio House & Garden Show

Do you love your home?  It’s the people you share it with that make it special, but every now and then you need – and deserve – a break. Who said school holidays can’t be a break for Mom too?

At this year’s East Coast Radio House & Garden Show take your children to the Children’s Centre, a children’s play area professionally managed by Tina Withers of Wart and Fish.  There your children will be entertained while you shop and browse through over 350 exhibitors.  This year the Children’s Centre is sponsored by Melissa & Doug with wonderful toys, games and activities for children from ages 4 – 12 years.  Entry to the show for under 16’s accompanied by an adult is FREE and the Children’s Centre is only R25 per hour.

In the main hall you’ll find an entire section dedicated to children’s related products and activities.  Pop over to the Kidz Kitchen for ‘baker-baker’ demonstrations by Tots and Pots.  The Kids Craft Café, is where your creative little one can interact with Melissa and Doug products. And if that isn’t enough excitement, keep an eye out for Jabulani the Clown and the Music Rascal performances.

Other stands you will want to see in the Kidz Zone:

Foil Art: Creative foil art kits, glue pens and foils. Just for Kids: Sandpits with folding benches, wendy houses, picket fencing kiddies picnic tables, children’s furniture, storage bunk bed, chalkboard tables, stools and rocking chairs. Mathmagics Audio visual educational software in maths, reading, spelling, preschool and accounting. Relly Rooz: Variety of baby products including shopping trolley pouch and play mats. Splashy Dashers: Battery operated toys for the bath and pool. Wendy 4 Kids: Wendy houses and kids ‘mini’ furniture, stoves, washing machines, tables and chairs, bedroom furniture range with themes for boys and girls and custom headboards.

There’s a feeding room for mom,  and plenty food options to cater for every palette, from a little fussy eater who wants to eat plain and will be able to find something from the food court, to a teen wanting to explore her palette at one of the many artisan foodies dotted around.  The Mad Hatter’s Tea Garden, based in The Gardener Live section is always pleasant for morning tea and scones. Out in the fresh air of the garden, designed by The Gardener Magazine, it’s a relaxing break to the rush of the show, with some space for the little ones to stretch their legs.
