Mandy on #CarseatFullstop

I didn’t want to be that mom that shakes her head, tuts and moves on with my life anymore. I see little children running, jumping and climbing all over moving cars every single day. I did the research and the list of things that can happen is horrifying. Car seats save lives. Not using a car seat puts your child, your baby, and everybody else in the car at risk.

Instead of shouting at individual parents every time I saw it happen, I realised I had the skills and the resources to shout at parents across South Africa. I started researching the subject and contacting people like Arrive Alive, Dr Anthony Figaji at Red Cross Hospital, Wheel Well, ChildSafe.

As a mommy blogger and owner of an online parenting magazine, I have close relationships with many South African parenting bloggers. I contacted those I felt could really help me make a difference and asked if they would support the campaign. And then I tapped into my experience in PR and marketing and put together a formal campaign plan. I am also planning to engage private nursery schools to support the campaign directly with their parents. And so, #CarseatFullstop was born.

Mandy on Sharing

The call to action for the campaign is to share the wealth of knowledge and information we will be producing as far and wide as possible.

You have the power to save a little life. One share, seen by one person, who straps in one child, saves a life.

The support I have put together to share this message has over 2 million single human beings following them. Imagine if every single one of you took a second to hit that share button?
